Taxpayers have bled enough

Dear Editor:

Re: Refugees to lose health care, Burnaby NOW, June 20.

Now that your paper has devoted a full page editorial on the defenseless refugees' free ride, possibly you should devote the same space to the citizens of this country that have been paying the way for these claimants for years.

Congratulations to Immigration Minister Jason Kenney who finally realized that the taxpayers have bled enough for these people.

I was born in British Columbia and have paid taxes and government assessments for my entire 64 years and never have I asked someone to pay my way. I pay my own medical premiums, pay for my own eye exams, glasses and have not been to a dentist for years, as the cost is prohibitive.

So please don't insult myself and other British Columbians because these freeloaders can't get an eye exam and have their teeth fixed at our expense.

Possibly Brad Kinnie, who helps these claimants, should look to other groups to lay the blame on for the misfortune of these defenseless people.

Mr. Antal Bujka and his grandchildren who came here looking for a better life should be looking for help from their own community, namely the Hungarian Cultural Society instead of blaming the Conservatives.

If Brad Kinnie really wants to promote something worthwhile maybe some of the money the government can save by not buying eye glasses and fixing Mr. Bujka's teeth could be used to prevent the closure of our coast guard base.

Really the citizens have had enough of the bleeding hearts.
