Dear Editor:
Joey Chan (Give today's teens a break already, Burnaby NOW, April 18), left out a few more things, such as having to cope with teachers who do not understand the difference between "underfunding" and "prudent budgeting" (as was demonstrated on the same pages), and a national/provincial debt, not as bad as in most developed countries, but still a formidable burden we shamefully accumulated on our watch and left for Joey to deal with.
Also, in fairness to our generation, Joey may want to check how many of her classmates could express themselves in equally powerful sentences.
With this out of the way, here is the good news: Joey is looking at a very bright future!
Joey sounds like someone very much "on the ball" (it's an expression we used a long time ago) and I, for one, would have no problem offering employment to such a person.
Congratulations! It was a pleasure to read such a thoughtful piece!
Ziggy Eckardt, Burnaby
