Re: OUR VIEW: New seniors’ home welcome news and Derby Manor gets city funding.
Burnaby city council and the mayor deserve our congratulations for their work in finalizing plans for the George Derby housing expansion. Thanks to the work of the city and other stakeholders, not only will seniors have additional housing options available to them in the city, but they will have access to housing that is affordable and within reach for seniors living on a fixed income.
Completing this project is a huge step forward in reducing the cost pressures on housing in the region, and it will help those who are most vulnerable to increasing housing costs. Again, fantastic news and everyone involved should be congratulated for making this happen in a timely fashion.
