I love Mexican food.
I dream about the trips I used to take to San Diego, CA to visit my in-laws – not because I liked them, but because San Diego has amazing Mexican restaurants.
Metro Vancouver is a Mexican food desert, with Burnaby one of the worst place to find this delectable food. Tiny little New Westminster has at least three (THREE!!!) excellent Mexican restaurants.
I was bemoaning this fact with a Burnaby Heights shopkeeper who hails from Mexico and she agreed that Burnaby needs some good Mexican food.
Well, ironically enough, as I exited the shop after my food discussion with the woman from Mexico, I noticed that just down the block there was a sign that a Quesada outlet was going to be opening up soon at Hastings and Madison.
Yes, I know, Quesada isn’t a home-style Mexican restaurant. It’s more like fast food, but it’s a start and it’s pretty decent.
It’s yet another cultural food option in an area that is becoming the foodie paradise in Burnaby.
