Dear Editor:
I was dismayed and disappointed to read your reporter’s negative story about the Sorbos, who now are together at Normanna Rest Home.
She spoke with Arne, who is in his 89th year, and Iris, who at 80 years has dementia. Not one word of the hugh efforts and time the Normanna staff took to decorate and beautifully prepare for their wedding renewal vows.Again, not one word of the beautiful theraputic garden with replicas of a Norwegian church and ship plus trees and flowers.
This garden is as close as the Sorbos could get to Norway, their roots. Not one word about many of the other residents who were wheeled in to enjoy an afternoon of entertainment.
Did she not notice their faces? And lastly, not one word about Pastor Krushel, who came from Coquitlam to say a few words.
Iris and Arne will never be really happy anywhere but at home, and this is not possible. So for both of them the second best place is definitely Normanna Rest Home. Their marriage renewal vows were just wonderful.
