What's with the ruckus?

Dear Editor: Regarding the ruckus over the snakehead fish in the Central Park pond, I really worry about the world sometimes. Firstly, is anyone thinking about how much money has been wasted on this fish, more than I care to pay as a taxpayer.

Dear Editor:

Regarding the ruckus over the snakehead fish in the Central Park pond, I really worry about the world sometimes.

Firstly, is anyone thinking about how much money has been wasted on this fish, more than I care to pay as a taxpayer. We have lived by the park for more than 30 years, and I can assure everyone that the carp, koi and turtles have not been there forever.

In fact, the waterfowl did not even winter over at the pond until about 15 years ago when someone started bringing in bags of seed every day.

We interfere with nature all the time. Sometimes, like the turtles, koi, carp, it turns out well, and the general public think it's great - however, when nasty things happen like the snakehead, not so great.

No one would hesitate to sue the City of Burnaby if anything were to happen to their child or pet. Get on with it.
