I have had some very disturbing encounters within the last two years in Burnaby, where I live.
When I pointed out to a male driver there was a stop sign he rolled through while I was a pedestrian crossing the street, he called me a "f***ing c***."
A man left a note on my windshield with "bitch" written on it after I didn't let him take my parking spot.
I honked at a car ahead of me at a stop sign. The car was stopped and the driver was talking to a young male on the sidewalk who was walking two small dogs. The young male on the sidewalk yelled at me to "get the f*** out of here" and then called me a "f***ing c***."
Going a bit farther back, about seven years ago, a young male who was in a group of young males fighting at a playground at Deer Lake on a Friday afternoon with children present called me a "son of a bitch" and spat in my face.
This was after I asked someone to call police to attend the fight. Burnaby RCMP did nothing after I reported that the male spat in my face.
All of these experiences were very disturbing. All are forms of abuse, verbal and physical. I am a middle-aged woman. I fear for my daughter's safety.
