Letter: Burnaby transactions can't be this slow during the pandemic

Editor: The longer you are in an environment where you are exposed to a virus, the higher the likelihood you will catch it.

Over 100 North Delta and Surrey doctors signed an open letter reminding people, especially young people, the importance of staying at home. Health officials fear an onslaught of cases of the highly contagious disease could overwhelm the healthcare system.

Editor:

The longer you are in an environment where you are exposed to a virus, the higher the likelihood you will catch it.

A few days ago, I was in the middle of a business transaction in a shop when the clerk answered the telephone and attended to that customer while I was waiting.

This is not polite behaviour at any time, but in the present situation it increases the likelihood of virus transmission. Please, people, keep contact time to a minimum.

For the customer, print all the relevant information on paper beforehand and give it to the clerk on arrival.

For the clerk, please do not allow interruptions.

This will speed up the business, minimize virus transmission, and make everyone happier.
