Some stores have put a stop on giving (plastic bags) out freely, however they now charge five cents to buy them. I think this is counterproductive. Banning them completely should be the way. But now these stores are selling them and making profits on them.

Instead of plastic bags, why not go back to paper bags like in the old days? I always bring my cloth bags when I shop, however I would not mind paying for the paper bags instead of the plastic ones.

I thought the idea was to ban plastic bags, not make it profitable for stores to use them.
