In the Burnaby NOW article by Kelvin Gawley, Kris Sims of the Canadian Taxpayers Federation is reported complaining about the recent increases of 40 cents in gas prices, and asking that gas taxes be slashed.

This was despite the fact that only one cent of the increase was due to the recent increase in carbon tax and the rest a profit for gas companies.

She sounded more like a lobbyist for the oil industry than a citizens’ advocate. It is interesting to me that one of the Canadian Taxpayers Federation's stands is for transparency in government spending, but the federation refuses to reveal its own source of funding, or say how much money it receives from the oil industry or foreign sources.
