Like James Brown doing his famous cape routine during a closing number of Please, Please, Please , Premier Christy Clark just doesn’t seem ready to leave the stage. This week, Clark appointed her cabinet.

I was pulled over Tuesday evening for speeding. On my bike. And while that may now allow me a certain amount of swagger amongst my cycling friends, a little sober reflection the morning after has me concerned. The cop was wrong.

Dear Editor: Why should taxpayers have to pay more in taxes each year for a proposed child-care program? The taxpayers have to suffer for problems caused by fellow taxpayers with children who do not know how to budget their personal lives.

Dear Editor: I was a bit alarmed reading the request for electoral reform as put forward by IainMacanulty on June 9 (We need voting reform, Inbox, Burnaby NOW ).

The only certainty that exists in B.C. politics right now is that we know the date when the legislature is being recalled. But that’s about it. There is a Throne Speech planned for that first day, June 22.

Elections have two key components: the race and the mechanics – the legislative process and administration of the vote.

Our economy is built on commercial trade, and so it’s no surprise some people get caught in a spiral of debt. And when they do, they often suffer from anxiety and depression.

Dear Editor: The public agreement put forward by the B.C. NDP and the B.C. Green Party to govern B.C. has some excellent proposals.
