Dear Editor Re: Don’t make taxpayers cover the cost for refugee leisure passes, Letters to the editor, April 1. Just to clarify, there is no actual out of pocket cost to the taxpayer of providing leisure passes to the refugees.

No one could be blamed for wanting to scream “go to your rooms” at some local council meetings across B.C. Seven of eight Nanaimo city councillors want their mayor, Bill McKay, to quit.

Breaking news! Fifty per cent of Canadians say drivers are getting worse. And the other 50 per cent who believe all is well are probably the drivers who are getting worse. We jest, sort of.

Dear Editor “One of the responsibilities of any and every Canadian prime minister is to get our resources to market.

Dear Editor I read with amazement that the Burnaby board of education and the Burnaby Teachers’ Association were musing about creating a “sanctuary schools” policy.

I doubt any province fared better from the recent federal government budget than B.C., which may actually have received a record harvest of Ottawa largesse and attention.

“Shadow of fear hangs over Burnaby.” The headline is big and bold and on the front page of a Vancouver daily newspaper. It is true and untrue as many headlines often are.

Dear Editor Re: Two men charged in strip mall shooting, Burnaby NOW , March 25. I understand that onlookers were shocked to witness ‘a brazen daylight shooting’ this past September at Old Orchard Mall.
