Sydney will have more than 14,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor hotel-inspired amenities for residents to enjoy.

One of the problems when you’re a pet owner living in a highrise is finding a place nearby to take your pets out for exercise.

Some condo dwellers have to walk blocks to find a proper space.

That’s what I find so fascinating about a new project that just had its topping-off ceremony to mark that it’s hit its final height of 25 storeys.

The Sydney project is right on the Burnaby-Coquitlam border and it’s really taking seriously the needs of dog owners. Many buildings don’t even allow dogs, but this one will feature an outdoor track specifically for people to let their dogs run on the second floor.

Sydney will have more than 14,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor hotel-inspired amenities for residents to enjoy. On the 5th floor, residents can enjoy access to a private social club, featuring a fireside dining lounge, chef’s kitchen, state-of-the-art fitness centre, and two guest suites for out-of-town visitors. Outside, there is a landscaped terrace that features a children’s play area, cabanas, green space, gym cool down area and a harvest dining area.

This is another example of how builders are trying to top themselves when it comes to amenities. Burnaby will also see Concord build the Oasis project that will include its own sandy beach.

The Sydney is one of Ledingham McAllister’s latest ventures. Designed by award-winning IBI Group Architects, the 25-storey collection of 160 homes features one-plus-den, two or three-bedroom floorplans, with sizes ranging from 611 to 966 square feet.

Sydney is located steps away from the Lougheed Skytrain station in Burnaby, providing easy access to all of Metro Vancouver. Residents will also be within walking distance to many schools, green spaces, shopping and entertainment.

“We’re proud to be celebrating this major construction milestone at Sydney,” said Carla Bury, Vice President of Marketing, Ledingham McAllister. “Purchasers are seeing the incredible value that Sydney brings to their future, with over 100 homes sold to date.”
