My House Design/Build received three Georgie finalist nominations — Best Residential Renovation $500,000 — $799,999, Best Kitchen Renovation Under $125,000 and Best Certified Whole House Renovation — for Deja Blue, a New Westminster bungalow built in 1946.

The Homebuilders Association Vancouver (HAVAN) is hosting the 27th annual Parade of Homes virtually, June 5th – 13th providing homeowners with a unique opportunity to get inspired and connect with the professionals who can build dreams into reality.

And there’s a New Westminster home featured.

The pandemic has put a stop to many things, but renovations is not of them. On the contrary, homeowners are out in force, actively looking to improve their living environments.

One renovation featured is called Deja Blue, a restored 1940s bungalow that measures more than 1,800 square feet and is now a registered BuiltGreen home. Work including fixing the foundation and the home’s drainage.

Ron Rapp, HAVAN CEO said “before tackling a home improvement project, I encourage people to take this opportunity to tour the Parade and connect with experienced builders, renovators and designers. It’s an opportunity get inspired but also to source the right professionals to help you plan your project and protect one of your biggest investments, your home.”

The Parade of Homes provides Vancouverites the opportunity to view award-winning homes, see the latest design trends, catch Pop-Up Talks on trending topics, and interact directly with professional builders, renovators, and designers through live video chat, all from the comfort and convenience of one’s home.

Rapp noted “Finding the right team for you, with the qualifications for your project is critical and often one of the biggest hurdles faced by homeowners. With home shows, builder open houses and in-person parades on hold, the virtual Parade will help bridge the gap.”

Cancelled last year with the onset of Covid, HAVAN is pleased to present the first virtual Parade of Homes featuring new condos, townhome and character home renovations, a modern farmhouse, a custom built home with central open courtyard, a traditional 10,000 sq foot castle on the hill, and sleek modern beachside high-performance home, providing inspiration for everyone, noting many of the homes on this year’s Parade have recently been recognized at the HAVAN Awards for Housing Excellence in April.
