Epic views are clearly a big draw in Burnaby, as Simon Fraser Hills is the most searched-for neighbourhood by Burnaby home hunters, a new infographic by property website REW reveals.

The data analysts at REW also found that Burnaby property seekers have realistic expectations, with the most popular home search in the city a two-bedroom condo in the $600-700K range.

The graphic also looks at Burnaby home sales and listings in the first six months of the year, compared with the same period in 2017. Echoing the board’s official stats, it reveals condo sale prices are considerably higher than a year ago (averaging $630,234 across Q1 and Q2), but detached home sale prices slid slightly to $1,712,921.

It looks like sellers haven’t adjusted their price expectations accordingly, with the average single-family listing price still around the same as in 2017, at just under $2.22 million.
