Burnaby native and Northern Arizona's Jacey Bailey continues to put up the points for her Big Sky Conference team.

Burnaby’s Jacey Bailey is taking on a leadership role as a junior with the Northern Arizona University women’s basketball team.

In their most recent game, a 71-61 loss to the University of California-Davis, the six-foot-tall Bailey counted 13 points – tied for game-high – as the Lumberjack went three-of-nine from beyond the arc in a game where a 20-11 start proved to just be a temporary advantage.

The squad, which competes in the Big Sky Conference, currently owns a 2-5 record.

Bailey contributed 14 points, including five rebounds, in the team’s 79-62 victory over Houston Baptist earlier in the month.

On the last day of November, the Burnaby Mountain alumna counted a game-high 22 points against Rice University.

The Northern Arizona forward/guard was the lone Lumberjack to hit double-digits, going nine-of-18 from field goal range, and adding four treys. Northern Arizona actually got off to a good start, leading 14-13 after one quarter and 33-22 at halftime, before the wheels fell off.

Rice went on a 49-24 run over the final 20 minutes to pull away.

The Lumberjacks are in Hawaii this week for the Jim Maui Classic, playing Oregon State on Wednesday.
