It’s been a while in the making, but the B.C. Junior A Lacrosse League finally unveiled its 2019 schedule, with the first game coming in five weeks.

The new season begins on Apr. 26 when the Langley Thunder pay a visit to the PoCo Saints.

The Burnaby Lakers face the Delta Islanders the next day at the Ladner Leisure Centre.

For a home opener, the Lakers host Langley on Apr. 29, 8 p.m. at the Bill Copeland Arena.

The team’s 21-game schedule includes such key matchups as May 3, when the archrival New Westminster Salmonbellies come to the Copeland, and May 13, when defending Minto Cup champions the Coquitlam Adanacs take to the Laker hardwood floor.

Burnaby’s slate includes 10 home dates, with four games each on Mondays and Sundays. They also play one home game on Friday (May 3 vs. New West) and a Thursday (June 27 against Delta).

The team has just one back-to-back set, on May 18 and 19, when they first visit Victoria, then return home to host Nanaimo (for an early 4 p.m. start at the Copeland).

The regular season wraps up July 7.
