Things continue to rise off the tee in a good trajectory for St. Thomas More Collegiate alumna Mary Parsons.

The 20-year-old golfer was among nine athletes selected to represent Team Canada as part of the 2020 national amateur golf squad, as announced on Monday.

A third-year student-athlete at Indiana University, Parsons marched all the way to the NCAA championships as a sophomore, posting a school-best 66th-place finish (234).

It's her first selection to the Canadian amateur squad, coming after Parsons helped Canada collect a bronze medal at the Pan American Games last August with a fifth-place result.

Last April, she registered her first NCAA win at the Lady Boilermaker, while this past summer notched a pair of top-five finishes, including at the Pacific Northwest amateur championships.

A member of the national junior squad in 2017, the Delta native was the lone B.C. golfer to make the Canadian amateur team.
