Simon Fraser University’s Polisi brothers didn’t take a road trip with their men’s soccer team to Hawaii as a vacation at the beach.

Marcello Polisi scored in the 15th minute, and his brother, Matteo, added another goal in the 75th minute to power the Clan to a 2-0 win over Hawaii Pacific University in Waipahu, Hawaii, last Saturday.

Netminder Aiden Bain faced 10 shots and made two saves to register the clean sheet in SFU’s net. It was the second win in three starts for the junior.

The Clan will play its first home game of the Great Northwest Athletic Conference schedule on Oct. 3, against Saint Martin’s University, 8:30 p.m. at Terry Fox field in Burnaby.

The women’s team, meanwhile, opens its home schedule on Thursday against Central Washington University. And the comfort of familiar environs couldn’t come any sooner as the team failed to gain a victory in the four road games that started its season

The women lost their second and third matches against Sonoma State University and Stanislaus State University. They fell 3-0 to the Seawolves last Friday in Rohnert Park, CA., then the Warriors beat them 1-0 in Turlock, CA.

Thursday’s match is scheduled for 6 p.m. at Terry Fox field.
