Letter: Burnaby's Brentwood area is awkward, dangerous for cyclists

This letter writer believes Burnaby "continues to ignore" requests from cyclists to separate bike lanes and that Brentwood is a prime example.

Re: Letter: Why I think Burnaby's Brentwood area is 'unattractive' (April 13, 2024)

Ms. Cunningham makes a compelling argument about the Amazing Brentwood.

There was such a opportunity to pedestrianize and green this space; not just line the driveways with trees.

As a cyclist, I find the area is completely unsafe. Awkward and dangerous to get to and unsafe to ride through.

The design centre cycle standards in the town centre fail to connect to me anywhere I want to ride to.

Moreover, the city continues to ignore the requests of cyclists to separate bikes from people. Instead, they insist on multi use paths that are unsafe for both groups.

Lastly, where exactly is housing for the middle missing everyone has been promised?

To me, it remains missing as more and more towers do not seem to create more homes especially affordable ones.
