The Click for Babies campaign - which aims to raise awareness about infant crying - is still collecting purple baby caps to hand out at birthing hospitals around B.C., including Burnaby Hospital. Organized by the B.C.

The sign is hard to miss. Head north on Willingdon Avenue and just before you hit Dawson Street, the sign for Claudio Magagnin's Pasta Amore now has the word Pizzeria attached to it.

The annual Rhythm of Life walk/run event raised $71,500 for the Burnaby Hospital's healthy heart program and a new defibrillator for the emergency department.

As with many adventures, the birth of Burnaby's Divina Denuevo began with a skeleton key. The company's designers, Victoria Ronco and Dave Kelly, use keys and other antique hardware to embellish their leather bags and accessories.

The Rotary Coats for Kids program is looking for donations of jackets to keep local kids warm this winter. The coats are loaded on a truck and taken to schools and community centres where kids in need have been picked out for the program.

Local cultural site hosts autumn fair this weekend

Simon Fraser University has a new educational toy: a giant interactive periodic table with real examples of the elements. The table is an embedded wall display, about 10 feet long and six feet tall, with a box for each element.
