Burnaby South candidates to discuss range of topics at upcoming town hall

Burnaby voters will have another chance to hear from Burnaby South candidates before election day at an upcoming town hall. 

The event is scheduled for Sept. 14 at 7 p.m. at the Ismaili Centre Vancouver (4010 Canada Way) with a limited in-person audience due to COVID-19 guidelines and will also be live streamed.

Topics will include environment, job creation, housing and how candidates will help create a safer, more sustainable and prosperous community in Burnaby. 

The town hall will be moderated by Bruce Claggett of BFC Communications. 

Candidates that have confirmed their attendance are: 

  • Likky Lavji - Conservative Party of Canada
  • Brea Sami - Liberal Party of Canada
  • Peter Julian (on behalf of Jagmeet Singh) New Democratic Party of Canada
  • Maureen Curran - Green Party of Canada

The event is still waiting for confirmation from Marcella Williams of the People's Party of Canada. 

General voting day for Canadians is Sept. 20, 2021.
