Construction, sales consulting firms named 2023 Burnaby businesses of the year

ETRO Construction and Belmar Consulting were among nine companies honoured this week by the Burnaby Board of Trade.

The 24th Burnaby Business Excellence Awards, by the Burnaby Board of Trade and City of Burnaby, took place Nov. 16, 2023, at the Hilton Vancouver Metrotown.

Nine Burnaby businesses are adding crystal to their main offices.

This includes ETRO Construction and Belmar Consulting , which were named businesses of the years at the Burnaby Board of Trade's (BBOT) 2023 business excellence awards on Thursday, Nov. 16.

ETRO took home the large business category, while Belmar was recognized from the small "up to 50 employees" business list.

"Burnaby is an extraordinary, diverse and innovative business, and we are so proud to represent and celebrate these businesses and entrepreneurs,” said Paul Holden, outgoing BBOT President and CEO.

"Congratulations to all of the remarkable finalists in each of our award categories — each of you has made contributions and efforts this year that are worth celebrating."

Nearly 400 businesses and entrepreneurs attended the 24th annual event, jointly by the BBOT and City of Burnaby, took place at the Hilton Vancouver Metrotown (6083 McKay Ave.).

Natasha Purnell of Park Insurance won the business person of the year award, while the Neil Squire Society was named not-for-profit organization of the year.
