The COVID-19 outbreak affected three units at Burnaby Hospital has been officially declared over.

In a statement today (Jan. 27), Fraser Health said thanks to the implementation of "comprehensive strategies," there are no longer outbreaks at the site.

The outbreak was declared on Jan. 12, 2022, when evidence of transmission had been discovered across three wards including three cases involving patients in a surgical unit, eight patients in an acute care elders unit and two patients in a medicine unit.

The affected units were temporarily closed to admissions.

As of this publication, an outbreak declaration remains in place at George Derby Centre.
