It’s the national day for our favourite sugary delights, so donut miss the opportunity to treat yourself to these heavenly delights.

Vancouver has some of the best donuts in Canada according to Yelp, but Burnaby and New West have their own best-kept hole-in-the-wall secrets.

Here are some Burnaby and New West picks for you to enjoy this National Donut Day.

Burnaby

Punk rock pastries

The not-your-average-bakery on Hastings street that specializes in unreal and naughty pastries is having a special deal today (June 2) to recognize National Donut Day — all donuts for $2. They are open till 6 p.m.

Cafe La Foret

The forest-themed local cafe that opened a second new location recently has a plethora of mouth-watering donuts to choose from. While they don’t have specific deals for this day, they just introduced their Milk Chocolate Donut for National Donut Day in addition to their already popular Injeolmi, Strawberry and Blueberry Yogurt donuts.

Lee’s Donuts pop up in Lougheed

The Vancouver donut fave Lee’s Donuts is opening a pop-up shop in Lougheed mall with a grand opening set for Saturday, June 3. While their walk-in commissary kitchen in Marpole (109-8889 Laurel St.) is selling free cinnamon or powdered donut until supplies last, the Burnaby pop-up has no specific deals except for their mouthwatering variety of bestsellers until they run out.

Twins donuts

The one-woman donut shop offering gourmet donuts in limited batches by pre-order is closed on Friday, June 2 for National Donut Day, but Burnaby-based chef Leslie Grana’s unique donuts will be available on Saturday, June 3 at Burnaby Farmers Market.

New Westminster

Crossing the city border on to New West is always a good idea — be it for the parade or for the culinary scene. These are some picks from New West for this donut day.

Yum Gourmet Donuts

The doughnut haven in Sapperton is offering up a special back alley deal on June 2 to celebrate National Donut Day, where folks can get their hands on six yum donuts for just $25 — talk about a steal.

CC's donuts

The list will be incomplete if we didn't include a vegan option for those with dietary restrictions. CC's Donuts is the answer for all your vegan donut cravings. Think heavenly vegan, nut-free, cinnamon sugar baked delicacies. 

A box of eight donuts are priced at $25 and orders can be placed by sending a direct message to CC’s Donuts on Instagram or Facebook.

Hive Cafe

The local coffee shop on Front St. boasts a great donut collection — all locally sourced from Doughnut Love in Coquitlam. From apple fritter, vanilla glaze, Strawberry Rhubarb to classic pink Homer Simpson donut called "Homer" and butter pecan (a vanilla bean cake donut with brown butter glaze and candied pecans), they have it all. For the vegans and ones with gluten allergies, they have some flavours like Strawberry Lemon, Pistachio Chocolate, Pistachio Vanilla and Homer that are vegan. So treat yourself.
