BC Liquor is releasing a selection of Bordeaux wines from the 2020 vintage on Sept. 23.

Why not buy some wine?

As part of BC Liquor's (BCL) annual Bordeaux release on Sept. 23, a selection of wines from the 2020 vintage will be released.

"Our 2020 offering includes many famous wines that will benefit from aging in your cellar and others that are gorgeous to drink now or over the next five years," Barb Philip, BCL's master of wine and category manager, said in a news release.

"Expect the red wines to be dense and structured, the dry whites to be minerally and complex and the Sauternes to be packed with ripe tropical fruit and floral nuances."

Bordeaux wine is produced from grapes grown in the Bordeaux region of southwest France.

It's the largest wine-growing area in France, producing more than 700 million bottles per year, according to the release.

Prices will range from $28 for a "ripe and accessible" Bordeaux wine to a $3,900 bottle of Pomerol tasting of cherries, violets and vine smoke.

There are 35 participating stores in the province that will open at 8 a.m. on Sept. 23 to release the wines, according to BCL.

Customers can also pre-order online beginning Thursday, Sept. 7 until Saturday, Sept. 9 before midnight.

You can read more about the wines through this online BCL brochure.
