Jun Jay Liu cleaned up at the Port Moody Golden Spike swim meet on the Canada Day long weekend. Liu won all five of his races in Division 6, placing first in the 50-and 100-metre freestyle, 50m butterfly, 100m backstroke and 200m individual medley.

Burnaby's Lucas Gatto wound up in a tie for 10th place at the B.C. junior golf championships in Trail over the weekend. Gatto finished with a four-round, four-over-par 292, 18 shots back of runaway defending champion Adam Svensson of Surrey.

The junior A Burnaby Lakers played its last game like a microcosm of the B.C. Junior Lacrosse League season.

Burnaby's Kenndal McArdle was dealt from the Florida Panthers to the Winnipeg Jets in exchange for prospect Angelo Esposito on Saturday. McArdle, a restricted free agent, played in just 33 games in the last three seasons for Florida.
