I was driving around northeastern Burnaby on Saturday when I discovered something amazing and potentially delicious. We just have to wait for it. Korean fried chicken giant Pelicana is opening a location in Burnaby.

The reaction to my column posted Saturday about the “screaming Christian” who rants at Burnaby’s Metrotown SkyTrain station brought a deluge of reaction from people who know about him.

“Just shut up. I’m trying to enjoy life.” That’s what a Burnaby woman is begging for after weeks of having to listen to someone being called a “screaming Christian” in the area around the Metrotown SkyTrain station.

When it comes to being tested for COVID-19, there are some cracks in the system. One friend took the federal and provincial online self-assessments and got two opposite answers. He ended up just getting a test to be sure and he didn’t have COVID-19.

Opening a restaurant during a pandemic is not what the owners of Burnaby’s next great eatery were hoping for. But you deal with the hand that is left you.

The Willingdon Linear Park project isn’t a traditional park. It’s shaped in one long strip and was designed to protect pedestrians and cyclists going north and south on Willingdon Avenue in North Burnaby.

One of my bedrooms is starting to look like a basement. There are multiple boxes of books stacked in a corner, bulging black garbage bags lay heavy with clothes and shoes, and housewares and assorted old treasures are piled up waiting for donation.

The Editor, I fully support B.C. Provincial Health Officer Dr. Bonnie Henry when she says the risk of not sending the kids to school is far greater than that posed by a potential spread of the virus that causes COVID-19.
