The pandemic that is causing panic around the world comes with many names now – coronavirus, novel coronavirus and, lately, COVID-19.

The popular Richmond poké restaurant Pokey Okey (@pokeyokeyyvr) is opening a second location at 4919 Kingsway in Burnaby. In order to celebrate the grand opening, they will be giving away free poké bowls to all guests on Feb. 29 and March 1.

People have a lot of opinions about how to react to the coronavirus – or COVID-19 – pandemic that has gripped our world. Don’t panic or overreact is a common refrain, but that’s easy for people to say.

The motives and validity of the protest shutdowns are up for debate, but the organizational prowess is beyond dispute. It’s a remarkable achievement to co-ordinate thousands of people in massive civil disobedience across Canada.

Look, we get it – nobody wants to pay more to drive. We hate gas taxes and we hate bridge tolls, but both are effective ways to deal with the climate crisis Canada and the rest of the world faces.
