June 7 marked Tax Freedom Day in British Columbia. That’s the day the Fraser Institute says the “average” family with an income of $105,000 has paid all of their federal, provincial, municipal and sales tax burdens for the year.

After months of being dismissed first as a joke, then as a source of worry, Donald Trump has secured the Republican nomination in the battle for the White House and continues to entertain us all in the worst possible ways.

Dear Editor The mayor of Burnaby says that he can not do anything about the string of demovictions that have occurred and continue to occur in Burnaby. He is supposedly an NDP-aligned mayor who should be focused on the needs of all his citizens.

Pretty well everything the provincial government (and, to a lesser degree, the Official Opposition) does these days has to be framed against the backdrop of the looming election campaign.
