For a party that has relatively little public support, the Green Party is showing once again it can get a disproportionately large number of people angry about its very existence.

Dear Editor: I am an “old stock” Canadian. The last name is spelt with a small “d” for a reason. No, not John A. Macdonald but his cousin-brother, J. Sandfield Macdonald, the first premier of Ontario.

I have a confession to make. I have been accused of bias over the years, as have most reporters. Sometimes I’m left-leaning, according to the source, other times I’m right-leaning.

Don’t mess with seniors. Particularly seniors who, rightly, are annoyed. Our front-page story details a tale of, at the very least, a lack of good planning, or at the worst – a significant disinterest in the health and welfare of senior citizens.

Dear Editor Re: Dispute not music to some ears, Burnaby NOW, Sept. 18. The neighbours are complaining about the noise from honking horns of support (and other related noise) for the locked out workers of BCAA.

Dear Editor What do people really mean when they say their biggest concern in the coming election is “Who will be the best manager of the economy?” Our banks remained solvent through the 2008 melt-down and continue to post record profits.

Dear Editor Re: Put a real value on water –charge for it, Our View, Burnaby NOW , Sep. 18. Further to your article on water metering. I think it’s high time that Burnaby scrapped the flat rate for utilities.

What was not considered even a remote possibility by many just a few months ago now has to be taken seriously: Stephen Harper and the Conservative Party may yet win this federal election.

Politicians or wannabe politicians aren’t always eager to talk to the media. In fact, some of them will go to extreme measures to avoid interviews or situations where they might face questions. This is not a new phenomenon.
