Here's some cool bears loafing next to a Burnaby road as traffic whizzes by

It’s nearly one year to the day that I posted a video of a bear family on Burnaby Mountain.

Since that time, I have kept my eyes open for more bears as I go to and from my home on Burnaby Mountain because, well, bears are awesome.

Today (Wednesday) after an exhausting deadline day full of technical issues, I got a treat when two bears appeared at the bottom of Gaglardi Way near the Broadway intersection.

These two bears were just loafing along the road, seemingly uninterested in all of the traffic that was whizzing by as they munched on some greens.

I was fascinated because I’m sure they were getting the same food they could have gotten inside the nearby woods. But they decided to be seen. Perhaps they were planning on crossing the busy road, which is split by a concrete median.

Hopefully they got to where they were going.
