Opinion: A fender-bender royally screwed this innocent driver as jerk bolts (video)

The driver agreed to pull over and then just took off

Sometimes bad things can happen to good drivers – with little-or-no recourse to fix things.

Chris Khoo is a sad example of this.

Khoo was the victim of a simple fender-bender two years ago and is still dealing with the repercussions.

And none of it was his fault.

He even has the evidence on video, but isn’t getting anywhere with ICBC.

Let’s back things up to July 5, 2019 when the vehicle Khoo was in was pulling up to a light in what looks like heavy traffic.

As the video below shows, a white car pulls up and hits the bumper of the vehicle Khoo was in. Then you see Khoo get out of the vehicle to speak to the driver of the white car.

What Khoo told the other driver was that they should pull off to the side into a store parking lot to exchange insurance details instead of blocking such heavy traffic.

The other driver agreed, Khoo said.

What happened next is nightmare fuel – as the vehicle Khoo was in pulled off to the side, the other driver took off like some sort of sociopath.

I mean, who does something like this, especially for a piddly little fender-bender? I’m curious if perhaps they didn’t have a licence or proper insurance or maybe the car was stolen or they were high.

Please tell me there was something else that motivated them into being a heinous jerk.

“It's taken me close to two years to finally locate the traffic video that demonstrated the accident and showed the person who hit us,” Khoo said. “We submitted the video to ICBC last week.”

In response, ICBC said it couldn’t ID the other driver from the video, which is true. I couldn’t see a plate number visible.

But get this, Khoo’s partner will still lose her insurance discount, despite the video show they were hit from behind.

“All because the video shows I talked to the (driver) and we agreed we would pull over into the Safeway parking lot to exchange drivers information rather than blocking morning traffic,” Khoo said.

Khoo has now posted the video on Instagram and Facebook hoping that someone will recognize the video.
