I’ve seen some silly stuff committed by drivers before, but this is one of the silliest.

Earlier this week, a driver managed to get himself trapped on a set of Burnaby rail tracks.

No, his vehicle didn’t run out of gas. Nor was it a mechanical malfunction.

Burnaby Fire Department was called to assist in trying to remove the vehicle before any trains went by.

Luckily – yes luckily - a tow truck just happened to be driving by and assisted the firefighters in removing the car from the tracks. It appears that the driver of the vehicle tried to do a U-turn on the train tracks and got stuck.

Yep, you just can’t make this stuff up. Fortunately for the driver – and train staff – that the vehicle was removed before it got smashed by a locomotive.

People, be better. Our roads are dangerous enough without drivers pulling stunts like this.
