You have a choice not to wear a mask, you have a choice not to patronize a store that requires you to wear one, and you have a choice to choose to denigrate a business for taking reasonable steps to protect its employees and it's staff in these uncertain times.
You, however, are not entitled, nor deserve, any exceptions or special treatment. The store in question clearly announced its intentions prior to implementing them and continues to be a leader in public safety.
You may choose not to wear a face covering but they may choose not to allow your entry.

The requirement is not prohibitive; you can make a mask from home for free, you can turn a t-shirt into one, see one, buy one, or even by the sound of it pick one up on the cheap from the store you were about to patron.
When a business says we are putting safety before profits, I am inspired. I am filled with hope by your story not because you felt slighted, but because a business implemented a policy to protect clients and employees alike, was willing to make reasonable accommodations, and ultimately rebuffed someone who chose not to come to a reasonable compromise.
Please re-evaluate the view a business should pay for your general safety. They should truly only be responsible for things under their direct control.
Cheers to this Burnaby business for taking reasonable steps to protect its employees and us.
