Editor: I was very saddened to hear about the passing of Pam Gardner. Pam was certainly a "one of a kind" and passionate about everything that she did.

Have you noticed of late how Premier Horgan and Health Minister Adrian Dix repeatedly make comparisons to the U.S.

Over the past several months, the COVID-19 pandemic has fundamentally changed our daily lives while uniting us as British Columbians in doing our part to flatten the curve.

It was fish in a barrel for the Burnaby RCMP’s traffic enforcement unit this week. Police officers set up on Burnaby roadways along with ICBC, Transit Police and others to focus on bad drivers.

One of the more interesting subplots of the COVID-19 pandemic was the impact it had on traffic in Burnaby and the rest of Metro Vancouver. Our local streets became a ghost town as people stayed home.

The narrative being spread by the President Orange Stain in the U.S. is that the death totals from COVID-19 are no biggie because it’s mostly seniors who are dying.

Open letter to Mr. Hanssens, Re: “ Apology for racist rant offered ,” Letters , June 18. I commend you for coming forward publicly to apologize, and we as a group accept your apology.

Ho hum, another extension this week of the state-of-emergency declaration to give politicians more powers to cope with the pandemic.

In the two-plus years I’ve been editor of the NOW , I’ve heard a lot about the City of Burnaby’s bureaucracy. Slow. Lumbering. Monolithic. Resistant to change. I’ve heard all of the complaints, although I disagree with the last one.

Editor: An open letter to the Burnaby Mayor and members of council I was advised by your traffic department to contact your office with respect to installing two traffic circles in my neighbourhood and removing four-way stop signs.
