In the two-plus years I’ve been editor of the NOW , I’ve heard a lot about the City of Burnaby’s bureaucracy. Slow. Lumbering. Monolithic. Resistant to change. I’ve heard all of the complaints, although I disagree with the last one.

Editor: An open letter to the Burnaby Mayor and members of council I was advised by your traffic department to contact your office with respect to installing two traffic circles in my neighbourhood and removing four-way stop signs.

Editor: An open letter to the Minister of Education: Today, I tried to register both my children (for summer school programs) who attend independent schools in Burnaby. They attend John Knox Christian.

Reaction has been rolling in since yesterday’s news that a Burnaby teacher had tested positive for COVID-19. The teacher is believed to work at Burnaby Mountain Secondary School.

Hi Five Chicken has finished setting up shop at a new location at Hastings and Warwick, just east of Holdom in North Burnaby. The location is just 60 seconds from my old high school and I weep that I didn’t have access to this. But I do now.
