“Don't get me started on joggers!” That’s what “Sharon in Burnaby” wrote as she unloaded her frustrations to me about people in our city not following COVID-19 best practices.

Editor: Re: Opinion: I’m proud of my Scottish heritage, but it’s time SFU retired the ‘Clan’, June 13, Chris Campbell. Like Mr. Campbell, I too am from proud Scottish heritage and I believe there is no place for racism in our society.

The focus of headlines the past two days in Canadian politics has been on Burnaby South MP and federal NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh. I get it. An opposition leader getting booted out of the House of Commons is a rare thing.

This is my personal way, one person’s way. You may have a different approach and I respect it. First, I recognize that discrimination has existed since the beginning of humans on Earth. It exists in every country.

Editor: Thank you City of Burnaby for the completion of pathways around Central Park, along Boundary Road and Patterson Avenue. Since those pathways have been available, it's heartwarming to see more walkers and joggers using them.

I received a compliment recently from New Westminster-Burnaby MP Peter Julian over some of my recent blogs holding people to account for following COVID-19 rules. Julian said people need to be aware of the rules and my columns are one way.

The Brentwood of my youth was never what I would call bustling. Oh, sure, the intersection of Willingdon and Lougheed was pretty busy and there was the mall and the Lougheed drive-in theatre.
