The design plan for the new $79-million Burnaby North Second School is being met with wide acclaim from parents. And rightly so. It looks bright and bold, with details that aim to take up a much-smaller footprint than the existing 63-year-old school.

Tough-as-nails baby bird survives fall from Burnaby nest
Attached is a picture of a baby great blue heron. This little guy fell out of its nest and was rescued and brought to Wildlife Rescue Hospital. No injuries were detected but he appeared to be on the thinner side.
