Dear Editor: A couple of your contributors are way off base in their opinions. Let's look at the opinion of Trevor Ritchie, who suggested the City of Burnaby fund child care but admits that child care is a provincial responsibility.

Saturday mornings I occasionally attend the Frontiers of Modern Physics lecture series put on by TRIUMF, the University of British Columbia and Simon Fraser University. It's amazing what you can learn from a physics lecture.

"I do not agree with what you have to say, but I'll defend to the death your right to say it." The quote, attributed to Voltaire, gets pulled out a lot to back freedom of speech arguments. This time is no exception.
