Concord Pacific provides $25,000 a year for the festivities at Burnaby Village Museum, which get underway starting Nov. 25

From now to Dec. 24, young ones can get their picture taken with St. Nick himself at Metropolis at Metrotown for a minimum donation of $3. Guests will receive a digital, shareable photo.

It was another great year for the Burnaby wedding show and swap

With the holidays just around the corner, the Christmas Bureau is opening the doors to its toy room next week. Every year, the Burnaby-based non-profit helps put a gift or two under the tree of low-income families and seniors.

Helmut Lemke was only 17 years old when he was conscripted to the Russian Front. The German teen received draft papers to join Adolf Hitler’s extreme military organization, the SS.

Remember those lost to war by attending a Remembrance Day ceremony. The South Burnaby parade starts at 10:30 a.m. from Fire Hall No. 3 (6511 Marlborough Ave.), with the ceremony beginning at 11 a.m. at the cenotaph in Bonsor Park.
