Get into the holiday mood with a dramatic reading of the Charles Dickens' classic A Christmas Carol this Friday, Dec. 9 at the McGill library branch. There will be choral interludes, performed by library staff and their families and friends.

Humanitarians have sometimes been accused of wearing their hearts on their sleeves, but these days, some are literally sporting their favourite sentiments on their wrists.

Christmas is coming, and the Burnaby Heights neighbourhood is all aglow with excitement. The Heights Merchants Association is hosting its annual tree lighting ceremony at Heights Fountain Square this weekend.

It all comes down to people. For the Burnaby Christmas Bureau, there's people needing help, people offering help and people helping to bring them all together.
