Deer Lake Gallery will open the new year with an exhibition of work by an artist from the Sunshine Coast. Bodies of Salt, running Jan. 13 to Feb. 3, features the oil paintings of Amanda Smart.

Burnaby Lyric Opera is returning to the Shadbolt Centre for the Arts with its annual Christmas concert fundraiser next weekend. The concert, part of the company’s Sunday afternoon concert series, is on Sunday, Dec. 3 at 3 p.m. at the Shadbolt Centre.
