Burnaby is hosting a variety of Christmas markets and holiday craft fairs this year.

It’s craft fair season in Burnaby! As the holidays approach, there’s all kinds of fairs to browse, whether you want to attend the Japanese-focused Nikkei Craft Fair, the juried artisanal craft festival at Deer Lake, local independent vendors, or one of three Scandinavian-specific Christmas markets, Burnaby absolutely has you covered.

Outdoor Christmas Market at St. Alban’s

All are welcome at the outdoor Christmas market hosted by St. Alban’s Anglican Church. With tables featuring delicious homemade baking and preserves, you can find a variety of pies, preserves, banana loaves, Christmas cookies and more. Coffee, tea and hot chocolate will be available, as well as soup. Children can decorate their own sugar cookie.

When: Saturday, Dec. 10 from 2 to 5 p.m.
Where: 7717 19th Ave. under tents in the church parking lot
Cost: Free admission

Fifth Annual Venezuelan Christmas Bazaar

Check out the fifth annual Venezuelan Christmas Bazaar, hosted by the Venezuelan-Canadian Society of B.C. Meet and support Venezuelan artists and entrepreneurs, and eat tasty Venezuelan food. Live music will begin at 11:30 a.m.

When: Sunday, Dec. 11 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Where: Burnaby Lake Rugby Club (3760 Sperling Ave.)
Cost: Admission is by donation, suggested $5

Brentwood Makers Market

While you’re doing weekend shopping, the Amazing Brentwood is hosting a makers market every weekend from Nov. 19 to Dec. 23. Find floral keepsakes, jewelry, wafer cookies and more.

When: Weekends until Dec. 23 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Where: The Amazing Brentwood (4567 Lougheed Hwy.)
Cost: Free admission

BCIT Alumni Holiday Market

Support BCIT alumni-owned businesses in the third annual online BCIT Alumni Holiday Market. There will be goods and gift options galore, including sparkling beverages, artisan desserts, craft beer, soy candles and more.
