On Saturday morning, a multi-faith direct action group will reflect on this year’s Earth Day at the Brunette River in Burnaby where Trans Mountain has been cutting down trees.
The physically-distanced vigil will “express love for the life that this river sustains, including the endangered Nooksack dace, a small fish, that occurs at this location, as well as otters, salmon, mergansers, blue herons, turtles, and kingfisher,” said a news release. “The group opposes destruction of this site for the Trans Mountain Expansion (TMX) pipeline. The event will be live-streamed for virtual participation.”
