The Simon Fraser University cross country teams put six runners combined in the men’s and women’s Top-10 at the Great Northwest Athletic Conference championships in Bellingham.

It wasn’t the season they had hoped for, but for a handful of Simon Fraser University women’s soccer players, the end came with some consolation.

Take away their star rusher, and the St. Thomas More Knights still can’t be stopped. With running back Tyler Eckert sidelined with an illness, the undefeated Knights accumulated a season-high 58 points against the visiting W.J.

It wasn’t that Stan Stewardson’s life revolved around sports, but more so that sports revolved around the New Westminster native. A member of Lester Pearson High’s B.C.

A rivalry is always better with some urgency, and both the Burnaby South Rebels and Burnaby North Vikings senior boys volleyball teams had that entering Wednesday’s league match. And as it has for time memorium, momentum goes to the victor.

There were bright lights, a big city and a very formidable competition. At their first Pan Am championships, the junior group from Adagio Rhythmic Academy took it all in and returned home last week with a bronze medal.

Hockey Canada unveiled the three Canadian rosters that will be competing at the World Under-17 Hockey Challenge, Nov. 5 to 11 in Dawson Creek and Fort St. John. And a pair of Burnaby Winter Club alum will enjoy wearing the black hats.

There was no quick start to Saturday’s contest, but the St. Thomas More Knights made sure it finished in similar fashion.

It was fun while it lasted. The Grandview Steelers’ seven-game win streak was busted on Thursday and is now a distant memory after the Pacific Junior B Hockey club suffered back-to-back losses at the hands of the Richmond Sockeyes.
