As the NDP glides into its second year of government, it’s worth noting the party has avoided something that has plagued it for much of its past: disunity and dissension.

Editor: I am writing about the amount of refuse along the north side of Marine Way, east of Byrne Road. Market Crossing is a wonderful development meeting the diverse needs of Burnaby citizens.

Growing up, my mom’s “potty mouth” consisted of words like “sugar!” and “fudge!” - and those were only uttered in the most serious of circumstances. One stubbed toe, and no baking ingredient was off the table.

More than any other person, famed urban geographer Dr. Walter Hardwick shaped today’s Vancouver. He organized the successful movement to oppose a freeway through downtown Vancouver (the Georgia Viaduct is the only remnant of this traffic system).

At first glance, it appears the BC NDP provincial government and a new report on modernizing the taxi industry are bending over backwards to protect it.

Editor: As a frequent user of Central Park, I have become concerned about the conditions of the main trails. They have become worn down with embedded rocks sticking out of the surface.

An email landed in the editor’s inbox the other day with a not-so-simple question.

I didn’t realize that I was a visible minority until I was in Grade 9.
