Dear Editor: Last Sunday I was visited by my local Green Party candidate, Joe Keithley.

My email inbox has been flooded with about 100 spending announcements from the B.C. government the past few days, as money is being shovelled out of the door as the fiscal year draws to a close later this week.

Waiting for the writ to drop in B.C. is a bit like watching New Year’s Eve revellers who believe any immoral act will be expunged by the magic eraser of midnight, granting them a clean slate. The B.C.

Anyone travelling along Willingdon Avenue in North Burnaby could not have failed to notice that over the years the City of Burnaby has accumulated properties on the east side of Willingdon north of Brentwood mall.

Dear Editor: I wish to congratulate Coun. Colleen Jordan for having the courage to step up and utter the words “photo radar.

Dear Editor: I’m one of those dinosaurs who doesn’t Facebook or Twitter so I’ll express my gratitude the old fashioned way – in writing. I am overwhelmed by the kindness shown to me by our UBC students who catch the 49 bus route at Metrotown.

There were plenty of tears and laughter (and some relief) on hand last week as 14 MLAs spent their last day on the job in the provincial legislature.

Dear Editor: Re: Don’t penalize home owners, Opinion, Burnaby NOW , March 17. The article mentioned that $304.30 was added to the water bill regardless of suite size. However, the number has not represented the sewer portion.

Dear Editor: Last week I attended a fantastic grand opening for the North Burnaby Neighbourhood House. A big thank you to the Burnaby NOW for helping spread the word about the Neighbourhood House in my community.

Homeowners are now paying city utilities bills due March 15. Renters are paying too, indirectly. We all pay city utilities and taxes, so let’s drop Mayor Derek Corrigan’s tacky tactic of stoking division between house owners and everyone else.
