Dear Editor Re: Burnaby cleanup company proposing new oil spill station, Burnaby NOW online, Sept. 7. It is most welcome news that concrete plans have been completed for a new oil spill station in Vancouver Harbour.

At a time when many B.C.

Perhaps it’s the child in all of us here at the local newspaper, but we always feel like the new year really begins with the first couple of weeks when everyone goes back to school. In fact, for the media, it is a bit like a fresh start.

It’s often hard to believe that tucked in between the highways and houses in Burnaby are veins of water that provide nurseries for wild salmon. The pressure on such water nurseries in urban areas is tremendous.
