The new federal government under Justin Trudeau has a chance to do something that will have a much bigger impact than legalizing marijuana, changing election laws or building roads and bridges.

While Day 2 of the National Energy Board’s Kinder Morgan hearings were underway in Burnaby, the US National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration announced that 2015 is going down as the hottest year in recorded history – by far.

Every once in a while, you’ll see one of those faded red bumper stickers from 2013, pleading to “Save B.C. Film!” Well, mission accomplished – thanks to a Canadian dollar that has slumped below 70 cents US. The film business is booming in B.C.
